Merrill Lynch and Capgemini Release 11th Annual World Wealth Report

NEW YORK, June 27, 2007 — Driven by a strong global economy, the wealth of the world’s high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs1) increased 11.4 percent to US$37.2 trillion in 2006, according to the 11th annual World Wealth Report, released today by Merrill Lynch (NYSE: MER) and Capgemini. The number of HNWIs in the world increased 8.3 percent in 2006 to 9.5 million and the number of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (Ultra-HNWIs2) grew by 11.3 percent to 94,970.

World Wealth Report Finds High Net Worth Individuals Increasingly Earn Rather Than Inherit Wealth

NEW YORK, July 11, 2006 — High-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), people with net financial assets of at least U.S. $1 million excluding their primary residence and consumables, are increasingly earning rather than inheriting their financial wealth, according to the 10th-anniversary edition of the World Wealth Report, which was released in June by Merrill Lynch (NYSE: MER) and Capgemini.
