Bank Julius Baer obtains license to open representative office in Istanbul

Zurich, 14 August 2008 —- Julius Baer, Switzerland’s leading dedicated wealth manager, has been granted a license by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency of Turkey to open a representative office in Istanbul. This marks another important step in the execution of Julius Baer’s growth strategy and reflects the bank’s commitment to this dynamic region.
The office, which is due to open later this year, will serve as a point of contact to further strengthen links with local market participants. It will also allow Julius Baer to gather first-hand information about the region in order to identify new investment opportunities.
